Pre-travel checklist
There are so many things to think about before you head away on vacation. Often we’re so busy thinking about the trip we forget about things that need to happen at home too. We’ve put together this handy checklist of things to think about and plan ahead:

Where to stay
Booking the right sort of family accommodation can make or break family trips. We suggest using Booking.com for city accommodation. They have by far the most comprehensive online booking tool and include not only hotels but serviced accommodation, hostels and rental properties.
The Booking.com search tools make it very easy to narrow in on the type of property you have and the budget you are looking for. They have a useful map function for checking price and availability of nearby properties too. Give it a try here!
Helping you in your hotel search, we have hand-picked great family accommodation in every city we feature. You can see our detailed guide here on the best features we look for and criteria we believe make a hotel “family-friendly”.
To find our hand-picked favourites across the world, come and search by your favourite city here where we give all our insider tips on finding the best neighbourhoods.
How to get there
Search for your cheapest flight options. We are big fans of using Skyscanner to map out our route.

What to Pack
Cut down your planning time by downloading our city trip packing list before each trip. Sure there are fancy apps, but nothing will beat old fashion pen and paper!
Simply tick the items as you place them in your case (and tuck the list and a pen in your case for super speedy packing on your way home, this way, you won’t leave anything behind!)

If you are looking for specifics on what to pack for each city, head over to our packing list home page. For each city, we give a detailed guide to the essential items you will need and seasonal wardrobe choices.
